Hans F. Graf, 91, of
Ellicott City, Md., and formerly of Terre Haute, died at 11:46
p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at Morningside House in Ellicott
City. He was born July 8, 1917, in Neckargemund, Germany, to
Fritz Graf and Adeline Wickenhauser Graf. He was a sheet metal
worker, working many years for Hartman & Co., and retiring from
SMC. His wife of 62 years, Ruth Graf, preceded him in death in
2003.
Survivors include a son, Fred Graf and wife Reba of Woodstock,
Md.; a sister, Adaline Knott of South Bend; two grandchildren,
Fredrick Graf and wife Jennifer of Indianapolis, and Julianna
Kern and husband Kraig of Charlotte. N.C.; one great-grandchild,
Madeline Kern; and several nieces and nephews. He also was
preceded in death by his parents; brother, Herman Graf; and
sister, Gretchen Lawson.
He was a member of Maple Avenue United Methodist Church, William
Penn Lodge Free & Accepted Masons, Scottish Rite, Knights
Templar Zorah Shrine, organizations where he previously held
positions of master, governor, and prior. He also was a member
of Sheet Metal Workers Local 20.
Services are 10 a.m. Friday at Callahan-DeBaun Funeral Home,
2425 Wabash Ave., with the Rev. Monty Barker officiating. Burial
is in Highland Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m.
Thursday, with a Masonic service conducted by William Penn
Lodge, at 7 p.m.
